Digboi College is a three-faculty co-educational college imparting education in the undergraduate level in ARTS, SCIENCE and COMMERCE stream-both Major and Core. At present the college has about 1200 students, 63 faculty members and 29 office staff. The college has the reputation of outstanding performance in academics, sports and co-curricular activities. It was accredited at B+ grade with an institutional score of 78.6 out of 100 point scale by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 2004.
CLASS ROOMS
The college has the sufficient number of well-ventilated class rooms spanned over four separate buildings with the facility of light, fan, furniture, green boards etc.
FACULTY
The faculty comprises highly qualified, progressive and competent teachers. There are 22 M. Phil. and 16 Ph.D. holders. Many teachers are engaged in higher studies and research works. Some teachers have published papers, books and have obtained research support from U.G.C.
AUDITORIUM
The college has a large auditorium with a capacity of about 1000 seats. Cultural programmes and other meets take place here throughout the year.
LIBRARY
The college has a well equipped library with a present stock of approximately 30000 volumes including text books, reference books, journals, research thesis etc. The library is under the process of complete computerization. BSNL Broadband internet and Xerox facilities are available in the library for the benefit of the students and the teachers. Students can borrow books from the library against library cards. Reading room facility is available. All the departments have also their own libraries.

The college maintains a Book Bank for the benefit of needy students. Generally poor students are helped with text books from the Book Bank.

WOMEN’S HOSTEL
A 100 seated in-campus Women’s Hostel with attached bathrooms is run under strict supervision of a resident warden. The hostel is well protected with security arrangement.
BOYS’ HOSTEL
In-campus Boys’ Hostel is available under strict supervision of a warden.
Application forms for hostel accommodation may be collected from the college office. Allotment of seats is made on the basis of merit. Medical facility is available in the hostels.
Students in the hostel must abide by the rules and regulations of the hostel. Violation of rules will invite punitive action.
COLLEGE CANTEEN
Digboi College Canteen is just near the college administrative building.
STUDENTS AID FUND
In order to help and explore potentials of economically backward students the college has created Digboi College Students’ Aid Fund in 2004. The Principal invites applications from the economically backward students at the beginning of the session. The advisory committee of the fund selects the deserving students on the basis of merit and financial condition. Rotary Club, Digboi has agreed to extend financial assistance to poor students on merit basis.
NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC)
The NCC unit is the pride of the college. Every year a good number of students attend state level and national level camps. The unit earns laurels for the college. Quite a good number of NCC cadets of the college have found suitable employment as signal officer, warrant officer etc. Sri Dhiraj Pandey of our college achieved a rare distinction by representing India in the Youth Exchange Programme held in Bhutan in 2007 under a scheme of Royal Govt. of Bhutan.
NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS)
NSS unit is an integral part of our college. Students participate in different activities like Adult Education Programme, Village Development, plantation, Cleanliness drive and other extension activities.
COMPUTER CENTRE
The college has an air-conditioned computer lab with nearly 15 number of computers where the students having computer as their subject can perform their practical works. Also some of the departments have computer facility in the departments. A centralized computer Centre is nearing completion with all modern facilities.
INTERNET CONNECTIVITY
Presently the college has internet connectivity in the college office and library under BSNL Broadband scheme. Recently Wi-Fi facility is introduced in the college. The internet facility will be extended to all teaching departments in the near future. Teachers and students are benefitted in retrieving necessary information by using the internet facility.
BOYS COMMON ROOM:
The boys spend their off periods in this room. They interact with each other to have wholesome entertainment. They can enjoy games like carrom, table tennis, chess etc. in this room.
GIRLS COMMON ROOM
The girls of the college spend their off periods in this room. There is an interactive environment where students can learn how to tackle problems by discussing and working together. The room has facilities for games like table tennis, carrom, chess etc.
GAMES AND SPORTS
The college provides facilities for various games and sports. Athletics, Badminton, Cricket, Football, Chess, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Powerlifting and Bodybuilding etc. are organised in the college.
The Women Hostel has separate facilities for recreation which includes outdoor courts for Badminton and Volleyball and also facilities for indoor games like chess, carrom etc.
GYMNASIUM
A a gymnasium room has been set up attached to the library building. An Eight Station Multi Gym has been recently installed in the gymnasium room to enhance physical fitness facilities.
CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
The students of the college participate in the cultural activities during college weeks, different occasions and inter-college competitions. Digboi College encourages its students to join the movement dedicated to enriching education by presenting a holistic vision of Indian Culture. The college has joined the SPICMACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youths) in 1999. A number of programmes of the great Indian Classical Maestros for school and college students were held in the college.
STUDENTS UNION
The students have their own association named Digboi College Students Union. All the students are the members of the union. The union office-bearers are elected every year as per provisions of the Union constitution fortified with Supreme Court guidelines. A student who wants to contest an election.

Must not have any arrear subject.
Is not allowed to contest for an office twice (except class representative) during his/her study period in the college.
The office bearers are assisted by teachers.
COLLEGE WEEK
Digboi College Students Union organizes Annual College Week every year. The students participate in Sports, Debate, Drama, Quiz, Dance, Music etc. during the week. It provides a platform to all the student to showcase their talent.
COLLEGE MAGAZINE
Digboi College Students’ Union publishes its Annual Magazine “Digboi Mahavidyalaya Alochani” every year. It helps to showcase the talents of the students and teachers alike. DCSU publishes a Wall Magazine every year. Wall magazines are also published by most of the departments.
BOTANICAL GARDEN:
The college has a Botanical Garden having medicinal plants, orchids etc. The aim of making the garden is to create interest in plants among students. Students are encouraged to develop hobbies like gardening, mushroom cultivation etc.
SEMINARS/WORKSHOP/TALKS
Seminars and workshops on various topics are held periodically from which students are benefitted to enrich their knowledge. The college has successfully organised several National, State-level and District-level Seminars and Workshops.
GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL CELL
A student or a teacher may insert in writing his/her grievance(s) in Grievance Redressal Cell Box for relief.
SUGGESTION BOX
The students and teachers can put their suggestions in the suggestion Box for overall improvement of the college.
CAREER COUNSELLING AND PLACEMENT CELL
There is Students Counseling and Placement Cell for students. Students are guided for their career and placement opportunities offered through this Cell regularly. Seminars, talks and workshops are held periodically on career guidance and job opportunities for the benefit of the students by inviting experts in relevant fields.
Recently the college has launched a placement assistance project in collaboration with India Career Portal, Mumbai, for the Degree students of Digboi College. Presently only the final year students can avail this facility. SCHOLARSHIPS
The following scholarships are awarded to the eligible students of Higher Secondary and Degree classes.
NB: The disbursement of scholarship money is subject to availability of the fund from the Government.
ACADEMIC AWARDS
A student who will secure a place within the first ten position in HS Examination will be awarded MERIT PRIZE and a certificates. The students who will secure FIRST CLASS in degree Final Examinations will be awarded MERIT PRIZES and certificates. The Best Graduate of the college will be awarded Special Prize and a Certificate.
GROUP INSURANCE SCHEME FOR STUDENTS
Life Insurance Corporation of India has launched a Group Insurance Scheme for college students for bringing under the insurance coverage at a subsidized rate of premium. The scheme is offered to the college students under 1 year renewable group term assurance plan. On every annual renewal dates the scheme is to be renewed for getting insurance coverage of the students for their subsequent academic years. This is a unique plan for full time bonafide students with age group of 16-25 years with a flat premium of @ Rs. 2.30 for 1000/- sum assured per student. The scheme can be offered to the students at a minimum coverage of Rs. 2000/- and a maximum coverage of Rs. 100000/- (Rupees one lakh only)
The college intends to start the scheme for every student with a coverage of Rs. 20000/- for which a premium of Rs. 46/- will be charged at the time of admission. The benefit under the scheme is that the insured sum is payable to the nominee in case of death of the student during the policy year for which the premium is receive.
