The Department of Hindi established in the year 1965 by the then Head of the Department Dr. R. R. Singh. The department started only with Higher Secondary (H S) and expansion of the department took place in the year 1967 with Under Graduate (U G) Pass Courses only. Slowly expansion of the Department took place with new challenges and demand of the Hindi (Honours). With the day of its establishment the college is fulfilling the hope and wish of the local people and surrounding of Arunachal Pradesh. The main aim of the department is to provide introduction of Hindi Language and Literature. The college is top college in entire Upper Assam. The student of the college got good job opportunities in the various area. The History of the college was very glorious and future of the college is very bright. The college is the oldest and reputed college of the region. The Department is to popularize Hindi in Northeastern Region through providing opportunities for Higher studies. It seeks to develop human resources in the field of Hindi oriented job opportunities and to strengthen nation unity and integrity. The department gives importance to Hindi as a Link Language, official language, National language as well as International Language.
