Welcome to Department of History

Established in 1965, the Department of History is one of the Founding Departments of Digboi College. The Department offers Higher Secondary and Undergraduate (Generic Elective) courses in History. The major aim of the Department is to acquaint the students with Regional, National, and World History – a knowledge which is very much essential to understand the present-day society and also helps them to qualify in various competitive examinations and job interviews. Studying History opens up many career opportunities like Government jobs, NGOs, Media Organisations, and many more.
