The Department of Education has been providing the service for the benefit of the student community since 1965. Originally, the Department had offered only Pass courses. Later on, from the session 1998-99 onwards, the Department obtained permission from Dibrugarh University to start major courses vide letter no. DU/RG/1C/Perm/2000/287-91 dated 07/07/2000. Due to shortage of teachers, the Department stopped Major course in Education. Again, from the academic session 2016-17 onwards, the Department resumed the Major course in Education. Till date, four batches of Major students have passed out from the Department.
