Department of GEOGRAPHY

Welcome to Department of Geography

The growth and development of geography as a scientific discipline in India is quite recent as compared to that in the west, and it is still more recent in Assam compared to that in the rest of India. The teaching of Geography was started at the Higher Secondary level in Digboi College in 1999 and Degree level in 2002. We are looking forward to create a full-fledged department and a professional course to improve the learning process of the students and to make the students fit for the professional world. Hope the above-mentioned requirements could fulfill our thoughts in the future.

Disaster Management

Outcome & Objective

To make the students aware of the concepts of hazards, disasters, risk, and vulnerability.
Attempt has been made to prepare the students about the Do’s And Don’ts during and post disaster.
